JEAN PAUL GAULTIER: FISHING FOR COMPLIMENTS

When fishnets don’t make the cut for the season’s leading legwear, why not transform the wildly haute hosiery into a visionary masterpiece of creatively contrived couture? Jean Paul Gaultier had it right at his Spring 2009 Couture Show, and reinvented the phenomenal fishnet trend through fabulous footwear. All the shoes from Gaultier’s Spring 2009 Couture Collection uniformly embrace the sexy stiletto heel and sublty sophisticated pointy-toe. From classic black and whites to glamorous mirror-like metallics, all the shoes were brilliantly designed with features such as low ankle cuts, bold pattern construction, and the ever-popular “strappy heel” look. My personal favorites by far were the thematic fishnet heels, looking both highly professional and able to strut to sexy nightwear in a single stomp.

FYI: ZOETEE'S LOVES GWYNETH

While some find it foolish for celebrities to highly engage themselves with fashion design with the assumption that the goal is primarily for profit, the truth of the matter is that celebrities are constantly surrounded by high fashion on an ongoing basis. From promenading red carpet couture to savouring premiere seating at international fashion weeks, celebrities have an overwhelmingly impressive fashion background, despite their initial tickets to fame. Thus why I hardly find it surprising that celebrities left, right, and center are diving to debut what could be the next hautest line.
Avante-garde actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the next to jump the fashion design bandwagon and is teaming up with the luxuriously latter-day French jersey label, ZOETee’s, to release a collection forAutumn-Winter 09/10. With a seventies rock ‘n’ roll glamour inspiration that screams “rebel chic”, the contemporary collection - titled ZOETee’s Loves Gwyneth Paltrow - will feature ensembles for both day and nighttime wear for the coming fall season. The wondrously soft jersey seperates and swanky suited pieces make it virtually effortless to go from business to pleasure in a single wardrobe swap. Dress to impress, without the stress.
The seven-look assemblage will also feature the recently explosively popular “boyfriend” trend, with casual masculine tailoring and the essence of all business-savvy, sophisticated darlings. The clothes are to be fashioned from cashmere blends, recycled cotton, mesh, and wool; with a multifarious mix like that, one can’t be too sure that glamour itself won’t be woven into the fabrics! Although there is no word on where the collection is to be sold, keep an eye out on websites like My WardrobeAsos, and SSENSE. Also, keep an eye out for a second collection, slated to hit in Spring 2010.
Naturally, being Gwyneth, the deal would be far from sealed unless there was an altruistic effort to be graciously charitable. So with her heart in the right place, Gwyneth beat on to select a charity for all the proceeds from the clothes to go to; The London Kids Company. With a cordially considerate nature like that, it’s no wonder that ZOETee’s Loves Gwyneth! So do I!

Jimmy Choo Private Party: Pre-Fall 2009 Shoes & Bags

When the world calls for summer, the fashion world calls for winter. When the world calls for spring, the fashion world has already sprung to autumn. So while the world is awaiting their oncoming seasons, the fashion world is ever-so-elegantly two seasons ahead. Or should I say, two gorgeous Jimmy Choo strappy, leather pumps ahead.

Welcome to the mini-preview of the Jimmy Choo Pre-Fall 2009 Shoes & Bags Private Party. Enjoy your stay my darlings, and feel free to have a look around! To read about a few of the featured pieces, scroll beyond the slideshow tour of the party. Bisous, TFVG.

Of all the gorgeous shoes and bags, I must say I have already begun picking favourites from the sophisticated and sultry line of our darling Jimmy Choo. From alligator shoes and bangles to leather black totes with dangling chains, Choo has really set a fabulous tone for fall. Vividly bright colors such as the yellows, oranges, and reds that the renowned shoe king displayed, brought about the eighties-acid-bright trend while tickling the toes of the illustrious shades of autumn. I was quite pleased to see that strappy gladiator-like heels made the cut; with a streak of ingenuity, Choo creatively added some of those aforementioned eighties-acid-brights into the mix by coloring a few of the straps to prolifically pop. How clever he is! It is not a wonder why he is one of internationally leading lads in shoemaking and accessories.

Jimmy Choo
, we stand by you!
(In cream-colored alligator kitten heels of course!)

All my love,
